The Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee was founded in 1959 as a non-profit group with the purpose of providing assistance to Wilton High School graduates who may not be able to further their education because of financial need.
Now, more than 65 years later, the Committee continues to strive to fulfill the same mission. In 1993, the guidelines of the Committee were changed to include the eligibility of students of Wilton residents who graduate from other high schools. The Committee has worked diligently to keep with the changing times – most recently allowing for payment deferments during the COVID-19 crisis.
The cost of higher education continues to be a challenge to more and more families. WSFAC has continuously adjusted the way it responds to the needs of our students and residents.
In 1959 we began with total aid of $500 that was distributed to 2 students — now we provide a combination of loans and grants to students in an effort to continue the legacy. Over time we have helped hundreds of students to achieve their goals.
